Teaching Field ESL

My name is James Amrein. I am an American citizen with 6.5 years teaching experience with ESL learners of all ages. I previously lived in Japan for those 6.5 years teaching elementary through university students; I taught in Japanese elementary schools as an Assistant Language Teacher, in private schools with students of varying ages, and at the university level. My most recent position was at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies, a language-focused private university in Nagoya, Japan. This position focused on English conversation with 1st and 2nd year students. I was also head tutor for the program in my final year, which meant that I oversaw the running of the office, liaised with the office assistants and part-time teachers, and coordinated special programs and summer camps. My office also wrote our own textbooks for the program based on English conversation skills; I participated in book layout and design, lesson creation and integration, and updates.

As for certification I recently finished and passed the CELTA in Budapest, Hungary. I participated in the course from May 13th to June 7th, 2019 at International House Budapest. I received the Pass grade. I have attached the provisional letter of passing to my resume, signed by the Head Tutor of the course Keiran Joyce. I will receive my official certificate from Cambridge within the next 5-7 weeks.
