Dear TEFL Job Opportunity:

Please accept this letter in consideration for the position of ESL instructor. I have been recommended by several career advisors to teach English and believe I could effectively instruct your diverse group of students as this is what I’d like to carry on doing as a career now I have finished my degree with a 2.1 (honors). I have my 120 hour online TEFL course with a grade A and I’ve recently had experience teaching English to all age ranges and even 1 to 1 adult VIP classes in China. This was for three months and has taught me so much about myself, culture and the world of teaching.

I have also taught in the USA for two years in between University for all summers. This included teaching a class of up to 50 with a wide range of activities involving watersports. Also, I planned lessons with a variety of focuses and methods to adapt the course book materials alongside a creative approach to get the best out of the classes and demonstrated it for their needs. An example is my pre-intermediate group whom practiced canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding where I explained all the safety thoroughly before doing the actions in a correct way, for the use of the activity equipment.

Nevertheless, I view teaching as a service and my director experience at the camp Voyageur, Minnesota has helped develop invaluable teaching skills. But, the most recent experience in China teaching English has added to this skillset and has benefited in so many ways learning from my strengths and weaknesses and gaining further knowledge into my own method of teaching.

Teaching sessions has improved my leadership abilities and supervising multicultural employees and pupils has helped me immerse myself with all different cultures. This has been an exciting period of my life and has filled my aspirations with wanting more adventure and to see more culture. But, also to be a part of it. These skills, along with my creative approach of musical elements from my degree will make me a strong candidate for the position of an experienced ESL Instructor and I look forward to discussing anything further with you.

Thank you for reviewing my application. You may e-mail me at jamietebbett@outlook.com. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sincerely,

Jamie Tebbett
